TAS3: Trusted Architecture for Securely Shared Services - Secure and Adaptable Business Processes

There are diverse requirements on flexibility and adaptability of business processes, aiming at making the use of workflow systems in new application domains more practicable. We explore workflows in the technical environment of service-oriented architectures (SOA). We pursue an approach based on standards for modelling (BPMN) and execution (BPEL).

TAS3 (Trusted Architecture for Securely Shared Services) is an Integrated Project funded by the European Union, in the Information Society Technologies area of FP7. The goal is a trustworthy, secure architecture with secure service for dealing with personal information that is subject to privacy regulations. Our contribution to this project are concepts for modelling, adaptation and execution of secure business processes in this context. We explore authorisation and access control mechanisms for workflows and the use of authorisation information about processes in order to achieve adaptations of processes for fulfilling user requirements. These mechanisms are applied to the e-portfolio, employability and e-health domains. Currently we are working on modelling secure processes and basic mechanisms for workflow adaptation, and modelling and requirement analysis for processes in the e-portfolio domain.
