    The chair of information systems at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany (KIT) is offering a position for a


    researcher/PhD student

     

    Your responsibilities will encompass developing, implementing, and evaluating methods and tools in the realm of data science. Potential research areas include, but are not limited to, the quality of scientific data, the generation of synthetic data, and endeavors at the intersection of query processing and data privacy. Your work should not only exemplify rigorous computer science research but also facilitate tangible advancements through collaboration with users from diverse fields, such as energy systems, materials science, or robotics. We also intend to entrust you with some teaching responsibilities.

     

    You are expected to possess expertise in databases and/or data analysis, along with fun­da­mental programming skills or the aptitude to quickly acquire them. Essential qualifications include a passion for scientific research and a strong academic background, preferably a di­ploma or master's degree in computer science or a related field such as mathematics or physics. The application is also open to individuals currently employed in industry who seek to return to academia for a dissertation project.
